Mana RUTF packets donated

Lives Saved!

See the Impact

In November 2016, Good Spread buyers donated over 50,000 packets of Mana Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food to malnourished children at refugee camps in Northern Uganda.  Most of these children had walked for days with little to no food or water, fleeing the war and famine in South Sudan. Upon their arrival, they were severely malnourished and needed emergency RUTF treatments to save their lives.

Updates From the Field

The Refugee Crisis

The refugee influx into Uganda has continued to increase following political unrest and conflict in South Sudan that began in July 2016. The total South Sudanese refugee population stands at 894,950 refugees, which is well above the 230,000  when we declared a CAT II National Response in August 2016. By the end of June, it is projected that there will be more than 1 million South Sudanese refugees in Uganda.

86% of South Sudanese refugees in Uganda are women and children. With your support, we are serving these women and children with MANA RUTF provided by Good Spread’s customers, but also with additional services like healthcare, education, shelter and community services. It takes a village to help good spread. Let’s all play our role.
